My husband John and I started Polka Dot Market in 2004 after the birth of our first daughter in Farmington Hills, Michigan (Metro Detroit).  We moved our family and the business to Nashville, Tennessee in 2006 (one month before baby girl #2 was born).

I went to high school in Midland, Michigan and college in Charlotte, North Carolina.  I am a former 4th grade teacher and events coordinator for the March of Dimes.  I am the oldest of five sisters and my dad is a Presbyterian minister.  Now I have two girls of my own and don't know how my mom did it with FIVE!

Our two girls are ages four and two.  They are funny, loud, silly, stubborn, creative, dramatic and wild.  They sneak into "Mommy's Workshop" and grab fabric scraps, pencils, stickers, paper and boxes while exclaiming, "We have work to do!"

I love my family, my business and my customers.  I sew all of the tees, aprons, tutus, bibs, totes and key chains in our Nashville studio.  I also work with some of the BEST moms in business who help me make Polka Dot Market a fun place to work every day.
